With the new CV Cooling Design, cunova is setting a milestone in mould technology. This innovative solution integrates a special macrostructure on the outer surface of the mould tube, which significantly improves heat transfer, especially in the upper part of the copper tube. The macrostructure creates a controlled turbulence of the cooling medium, which leads to more efficient heat transfer.

Increased Casting Speed and Efficiency
Initial field trials in the USA showed an impressive 5-7% increase in casting speed without compromising billet quality. In Switzerland, the use of the design led to a 6.5 % increase in cooling efficiency, which was confirmed by a slightly higher delta T of 0.5 °C. Some of our customers have already completely converted to the CV Cooling Design and placed their follow-up orders.
