From 4 to 7 May, cunova participated in AISTech 2026 in Pittsburgh – one of the most important industry events for the international steel sector. Organised by the Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST), the exhibition once again brought together experts and companies from the fields of steel production, continuous casting and metal processing. A high level of visitor traffic was noticeable on the exhibition grounds from Monday morning onwards. Industry insiders even spoke of record attendance – an impression that was also clearly reflected at our stand.
Intensive Technical Discussions on Continuous Casting Solutions and Copper Components
The main focus of our appearance at the exhibition was the direct exchange with customers, partners and industry professionals from across the continuous casting sector. Our exhibits once again attracted considerable interest and created an excellent basis for detailed technical discussions. Particular attention was paid to our Cu+ Plate and our established mould tube solutions WAVE and Textured Mould. The presented solutions highlighted how advanced copper components can support improved heat transfer, enhanced casting quality, greater process stability and increased plant performance in demanding continuous casting applications.
In addition to the conversations at the stand, the two technical presentations delivered by our colleagues Steffen Heikebrügge (Research & Development) and Arndt Thiele (Technical Consulting) were among the highlights of the exhibition. Both presentations were very well received and offered valuable insights into current developments within the steel industry, as well as modern approaches to process optimisation and efficiency improvements in continuous casting.
International Collaboration and Strong Team Performance
The close cooperation between the international teams, combined with the many personal discussions with business partners, once again made AISTech an important platform for exchange, innovation and international collaboration.
AISTech once again demonstrated how important personal dialogue remains within the international steel industry – particularly when it comes to topics such as digitalisation, plant availability, product quality and sustainable process development.
